Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said he will have no more dealings with the Pacific Islands Forum Ministerial Contact Group tasked with liaising with Fiji.
He said unfortunately Fiji will not toe the line but will act independently as a sovereign country for its national interests.
Commodore Bainimarama said the Forum Group wants to continue to impose the concept of democracy to resolve Fiji's issues but he stressed that Fiji will seek its own path to a true democratic nation.
Meanwhile, he said the people of Fiji are urging him to delay his plans for elections by 2014.
Commodore Bainimarama said the people are happy with the government's focus on infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, health and education.
He said instead of condemning him, foreign leaders and former Fiji residents who oppose his government should talk with the people on the ground.
