No fight or brawl at Suva Bus Stand yesterday - Police

Police have clarified that there was no fight or brawl at the Suva Bus Stand as claimed in a video shared widely on social media.

Police say their operations team from Totogo were deployed to the area, backed by a 30-man team, in anticipation of the spillover of students returning from the athletics meet.

Police were also working with Suva City Council officials to clear the bus stand.

They say due to the temporary changes at the bus stand, students seen moving hurriedly in masses were trying to get to their respective buses and not because of a fight or brawl that had occurred as claimed.

Police added that the bus stand was cleared before nightfall.
