No directive was issued by the AG that may amount to interference with the independence of the judiciary in any respect – Acting CR
Attorney General Siromi Turaga and Chief Justice Kamal Kumar

The Acting Chief Registrar Kashyapa Wickramasekara has confirmed that Attorney General Siromi Turaga made a courtesy call to the Chief Justice Kamal Kumar on 29th December, 2022 and says the meeting was cordial and no directive was issued by the AG that may amount to interference with the independence of the judiciary in any respect.

In a letter, Wickramasekara says during the informal discussions, the Chief Justice briefed Turaga about projects recently completed and those in progress.

He says the need to fill the senior management positions were discussed and such positions will be filled in compliance with due process and the law.
