No details on 2005 tax write off
The Public Accounts Committee has raised concerns about information not provided in relation to a major write off of tax arrears that occurred five years ago.

In its report, the committee said a sum of $9.4 million, which was part of the tax arrears in 2004, was written off by the government in early 2005.

The Accounts Committee said the audit was not provided with the details and the amount that was written off, nor was it clear if the Ministry of Finance had carried out the necessary evaluation prior to the write-off.
