The Public Service Commission and the government as a whole is yet to decide on when the Performance Based Pay System will be implemented for civil servants.
PSC permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said some work has been done in the area of performance based pay but proper monitoring systems need to be in place for pay increments based on performance.
Chand said the Job Evaluation Report for certain groups of civil servants have already been implemented where the roles and responsibilities were assessed and the pay structures adjusted accordingly.
He said the full implementation will depend on considerations in the budget.
The 2012 National Budget will be announced next Friday.
