There is no confirmation as to when the new $7 million Laqere Market will open.
The construction of the new market finished sometime back however people of Nasinu and market vendors are awaiting the opening.
We have sent questions to the Chair of the Special Administrators for Nasinu and Nausori, Elizabeth Jane Algar and a comment is expected soon. The Nasinu Town Council has refused to make a comment.
It was stated earlier that Laqere Market will accommodate 400 vendors and priority will be given to all the vendors selling on roadsides which is about 250 people.
