Six Pakistani nationals who entered Fiji on Monday have been told to return to Pakistan as they do not have the necessary visa approvals to facilitate their return to NZ and then Pakistan.
Director of Immigration Commander Viliame Naupoto said although the six Pakistanis have valid visa approvals for Fiji, they do not have the visa approval to return to NZ as stated in their tickets.
Commander Naupoto said they tried to assist the Pakistani nationals but they refused to take that step.
However, the spokesperson for the Pakistani nationals have claimed to Fijivillage that they have all the visa approvals and they were detained at an Immigration Department official's home on Monday night.
They claimed that they are now been forcefully told to leave the country and the immigration official is demanding $400 each from the six Pakistanis for accommodation costs at the house.
Commander Naupoto has rejected the claims but he stressed that the Pakistanis have to pay for the costs incurred while being accommodated at the detention centre.
The Pakistanis will be put on a flight back to Karachi today.
