A new truck acquired through government funding at a cost of $96,000 was handed over to Food Processors Fiji Limited today by the Minister for Economy and Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Deputy Chairman of the Foods Processors Fiji Limited says the truck will make markets available for rural farmers at their doorstep and enable Foods Processors to partner with the farmers.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Sayed-Khaiyum says Food Processors has been through a number of different processes itself where at one point in time it was not doing well and the machinery was out of date.

Sayed-Khaiyum says they have to be able to ensure that a food processing plant has consistent supply of raw materials.
