The errors in rent payments to landowners, which used to occur in the past is expected to be eliminated with the Native Land Trust Board's new IT system coming on line by the end of August.
NLTB General Manager Alipate Qetaki said the new system will also speed up rent payment and ensure accuracy in data on land ownership and rental records.
Qetaki said all landowners would also be urged to open bank accounts so that their rent money can be directly sent to their accounts.
The new system replaces the $16 million MySap IT system which was found to have problems and was removed last year.
