Tuwai to miss first leg as he is getting married next month

A relatively new look Fiji Men’s 7s side has been named for the Dubai 7s.

Dual Olympic gold medalist Jerry Tuwai will miss the tour to Dubai as he prepares for his wedding which is set to take place next month.

Josua Vakurunabili and Waisea Nacuqu are the only players remaining from the gold medal winning team at the Tokyo Olympics.

Other players who have been named in the 15 member squad are Joseva Talacolo, Jeremaia Matana, Kavekini Tabu, Elia Canakaivata, Tevita Daugunu, Daniele Yaya, Terio Tamani, Kaminieli Rasaku, Iowane Teba, Filipe Sauturaga, Manueli Maisamoa, Panapasa Qeruqeru and Iowane Ratuciri.

Out of the 15 players, 13 will travel to Dubai after the medical team conducts the regular check-up on Monday.

The back to back Dubai 7s will be held on the 26th and 27th of this month and the 3rd and 4th of December.
