Christmas came early for the villagers of Sote in Tailevu after their prayers were answered through the opening of their new footbridge.

The footbridge was constructed by former Sappers who are members of the 6th and 8th Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment.

The new footbridge was opened by the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Force, Major General Jone Kalouniwai.

Village Headman Ratu Savenaca Rokovailavo says they had been requesting a new bridge for their village for a long-time, and now they are happy that they have a new one.

The 6th and 8th Battalion annual camp is in its last phase of training at the Force Training Group in Nasinu.
