Students of Sukanivalu Memorial School in Yacata, Cakaudrove, and Vunigiagia Village School on Kabara Island in Lau can now travel to school more safely after the Education Ministry handed over boats and outboard engines worth $48,000.

Education Minister Aseri Radrodro says the Ministry continues to support schools in remote and island communities with resources that make learning more accessible.

He acknowledged the transport challenges faced by these schools and said the boats will ensure students can travel to school more safely and with ease when Term 3 begins after the school break.

Radrodro also reminded the Head Teacher and School Manager to take good care of the boats and engines so they continue to serve the students for years to come.

Term 3 begins on Tuesday, 9th September.
