New Zealand’s U-17 team were defeated 4-1 by Austria in their final Group L match at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, ending their hopes of reaching the round of 16.

Austria dominated the game, taking 25 shots compared to New Zealand’s six.

William Britton scored for New Zealand in the 82nd minute following a defensive error, but Austria quickly responded.

New Zealand goalkeeper Toby Borgnis made several key saves, but Austria’s strong performance secured them top spot in the group.

Meanwhile, in the other Group L match, Mali beat Saudi Arabia 2-nil.
