Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says New Zealand has been a great partner and friend to Fiji and our partnership is the strongest ever.

The Prime Minister highlighted this during the signing of the Duavata Partnership with New Zealand’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Nanaia Mahuta today.

Bainimarama says the partnership is a landmark achievement in the advancement of Fiji and New Zealand’s collaborations which has continued to enhance over the years.

He says this has been evident through the remarkable support which New Zealand has rendered to Fiji during Fiji’s greatest moments of need.

Bainimarama adds Fiji is grateful to New Zealand’s assistance for Fiji’s recovery efforts from climate impacts and COVID-19.

Mahuta says New Zealand is committed to working alongside Fiji and supporting common goals both in Fiji and the Pacific region and build resilience in areas such as climate change, security and sustainable economic recovery from COVID-19.
