Netanyahu vows more Gaza strikes despite pressure

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he is "determined to carry on" with the military operation in Gaza until "calm and security are restored"

US President Joe Biden has told Netanyahu he expects a "significant de-escalation" today.

Israel has bombed targets in Lebanon after four rockets were fired towards Israel from the Lebanese territory.

Efforts to broker a truce between Israel and Palestinian militants continue, but little progress appears to have been made.

Hamas officials told the BBC ceasefire efforts "are serious and continuing” but Palestinian demands must be met.

New Israeli airstrikes hit Gaza overnight as fighting entered a 10th day.
