Navua mandali stress the importance of engaging youths in religious activities as Hindus celebrate Ram Navami

As Hindus around the country concluded their annual Ram Navami celebrations today, the Nasasa Navyouwak Ramayan Mandali in Navua is stressing for the need to engage the young generation in religious activities to ensure their culture and tradition is celebrated in its true form going forward.

Krishnil Chandra who is the preacher of the mandali says for the youths to stay on the right path and appreciate the Hindu tradition, it is important adults continue to guide them.

Chandra says during the 9 days of prayer, the key message was to promote peace in our daily lives and appreciate everything we have.

He also says it is not just about listening to what is in the holy book Ramayan, but implementing the values and morals imparted by Lord Ram in our daily lives.

Meanwhile, the President of the Rewa Brahmin Sabha, Sanil Maharaj says Ram Navami celebrations was different this year as they were not able to celebrate it in its full form in the past two years.

Ram Navami is a Hindu festival that celebrates the birthday of Lord Rama.
