Navua beats Nadi 2-0 to keep their IDC semi final hope alive

Navua's hopes for qualifying for the 2023 Courts IDC semi final after beating Nadi 2-nil in their second group match at the HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.

Navua led 1-nil at halftime.

They now need to beat Rewa in their final group match tomorrow at 3pm to qualify for the semi final.

Kolinio Sivoki scored the first for Navua in the 35th minute through a free kick while Thomas Dunn scored the second goal in the second half of the match.

Navua coach, Saiyad Ali says their plan was to win the game and score before Nadi which they were able to achieve.

Ali says they could not afford to be the first team to be making their way out of the tournament.

The Navua coach was also given a yellow card for passing comments on the decision made by the referee Mohammed Altaf.

Meanwhile, Lautoka is currently leading Ba 1-nil.

In other matches that will be played today, Labasa will play Tailevu/Naitasiri at 5pm and Suva will face Rewa at 7pm tonight.

In a Premier Division match earlier today, Nadroga beat Savusavu 3-1.
