The Navua and Labasa goalkeepers have kept a clean record in the group stages of the 2024 Digicel Fiji FACT at Subrail Park in Labasa marking a notable achievement in the tournament.

The Fiji Football Association says Labasa’s Jitoka Vulaca and Navua’s Jovilisi Borisi have both gone through three matches without conceding a single goal as their outstanding performances have ensured that their teams enter the semi-finals with strong defensive records.

27-year-old Vulaca, younger brother of former Labasa and national team goalkeeper Akuila Mataisuva who made his debut for the Babasiga Lions has quickly become a fan favourite due to his impressive skills and ability to keep the opposition at bay, showcasing his potential and talent in front of the home crowd.

Oceania Fiberglass Navua’s Borisi also demonstrated exceptional goalkeeping abilities, playing a key role in his team’s defensive success in the first tournament with Navua where he maintained his consistent performance.

They say both goalkeepers’ performances have set a high standard for the upcoming semi-finals, where their clean sheets will be tested.

The semi-finals promise to be an exciting match with Vulaca and Borisi aiming to maintain their impeccable records and lead their teams to the finals of the Digicel Fiji FACT.

Meanwhile, in semi-finals tomorrow host Extra Supermarket Labasa will face defending champions Flick Hygiene Lautoka at 2pm while, Oceania Fiberglass Navua will battle 4R Electric Ba at 4.30pm. The final is at 1pm Sunday at Subrail Park.
