Nasinu mother who allegedly assaulted daughter further remanded

The 43-year-old woman who allegedly assaulted her daughter has been further remanded in custody by the Suva High Court.

Maria Waqasaqa is charged with one count of act with intent to cause bodily harm.

It is alleged that last Tuesday in Nasinu, Waqasaqa hit her 16-year-old daughter with a mop stick several times on her left shoulder and also threw an empty beer bottle on her head.

The matter has been adjourned to the 5th of March to check on the bail application and the State’s response to the disclosures.
