Nasilasila’s trial lawyers given time to respond to claims

Fiji Court of Appeal Judge Justice, Chandana Prematilaka has given former Fiji 7s player Amenoni Nasilasila's trial lawyers time till the 18th of next month to file their response on the claims made against them by Nasilasila.

Justice Prematilaka told Nasilasila’s current lawyer, Mosese Naivalu to check with the registry if enough copies of the affidavit and translation copies of messages has been submitted.

Naivalu has been given time till the 15th of February next year to file a response.

In September last year, Nasilasila was sentenced to 8 years imprisonment for raping a 24-year-old woman in Sigatoka on the 22nd of December in 2018.

He had filed an appeal against his conviction in July this year.

The matter will be called on the 15th of February next year.
