People residing in Naibita, Manu, Wailevu, Nabulini and Nailega in Tailevu have requested the Government to ensure that adequate health services are provided in all health facilities in Fiji.

The National Development Plan consultation was held in the Central, where the villagers from Nabouva and Nasautoka in Wainibuka urged the government to address the high cost of living for ordinary citizens.

Some suggestions from the villagers were ways to curb the inflation, including an increase in social protection payments, an increase in Turaga-ni-koro allowances, an increase in pensions and a sustainable source of income for the village.

The villagers also suggested that the national development plan needs to address the need to increase the student-teacher ratio in secondary schools to ensure a high pass rate and transition to tertiary schools and to the labour market.

Other areas to consider in the development plan include continuous upgrade and maintenance of roads, illegal extraction of gravel from rivers, upgrade and maintenance of drainage and in the short term, government to create awareness on the initiates and government services.
