A concerned Nadi resident is urging the relevant authorities and the Government to look into the drainage system in Nadi after thousands of people were affected by floodwaters due to heavy rain.

Ana Maria says it was raining heavily early this morning and now, it has stopped.

She says they are hoping the waters will recede fast so they can go about their daily chores and enjoy the festive season with families and friends.

Maria says the rain did not dampen their Christmas spirits as they enjoyed it with her close family in Nadi.

Maria reiterates that she is glad no life was lost and urges the people in flood-prone areas to adhere to the weather warnings.
