The winning try scorer from the Japan 7s final and the youngest in the Vodafone Fiji 7s team, Waisea Nacuqu will play for the first time in Hong Kong tonight.
Nacuqu, Emosi Mulevoro along with Setefano Cakau and Pio Tuwai are some of Fiji’s trump cards as the team gears up to defend their title.
Fiji have won 14 times in Hong Kong including last year, and also took the most recent Cup title with a superb win over South Africa at the Tokyo Sevens last Sunday.
Coach Ben Ryan said he has put his focus on Wales, the team that gave Fiji a run for their money 12 months ago in the Hong Kong 7’s final.
Ryan added with the inclusion of Joeli Lutumailagi, the back-line has more strength and speed.
The Hong Kong 7s starts tonight at 10.24 where Samoa will play USA.
Fiji will take on Wales in their first pool match at 1.26am tomorrow, then Sri Lanka at 5.24pm and then Kenya in their last pool match at 11.16pm tomorrow.
On Sunday the Cup quarterfinals will start 3.28pm, Cup semis kicks off at 7.52pm and the Cup final will be at 10.25pm.
