The young man caught in the middle of the diplomatic row between Fiji and NZ, is today pleading to the NZ government to understand the situation of innocent family members who are being victimised for being related to people who work under the Interim Government.
George Nacewa, the son of the Permanent Secretary to the President, Rupeni Nacewa, said he has done nothing wrong but his student visa has been rejected by the NZ immigration just because his father is a senior civil servant.
George said he is innocent and the action by NZ is quite harsh.
Although he said that he wants to go back to Massey University to complete his health science degree, George Nacewa said he cannot do much as the NZ government has the final say.
Meanwhile the Permanent Secretary of the President whose son is embroiled in the diplomatic scandal with NZ, said he has no plans to quit his job so his son can complete his degree.
Rupeni Nacewa said his son is disappointed but he was appointed to do a job. He said he has not approached the interim government to intervene.
Nacewa said he thinks the NZ government is being too harsh, especially on innocent children.
