Naboro accident suspect to front court tomorrow

A 24-year-old man from Navo, Nadi who allegedly caused the death of 2 people in the horrific Naboro accident earlier this month has been charged and will appear in the Suva Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The man has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, two counts of dangerous driving causing grievous harm and one count of dangerous driving.

A 24-year-old man and an 8-year-old boy passed away in the accident which occurred along the Queens Highway near the Vunisalato Settlement in Naboro while 7 other people had sustained serious injuries.

The 8-year-old boy was travelling with his parents in a small truck while the 23-year-old man was a passenger in the vehicle that allegedly caused the accident.

It is alleged that the man was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer onto the opposite lane resulting in the head-on collision.
