With less than five working days left for all those 55 and over to retire, non-governmental organizations want to raise awareness on retirement benefits and its usage.
Fiji Council of Social Services Director Hassan Khan said there are plans to hold a seminar about post retirement benefit spending.
Meanwhile, over 300 doctors and nurses and a little over 800 teachers are expected to retire next Thursday after the retirement age was set at 55 under the State Services Decree 2009.
Those retiring include the Police Force, prisons officers and the military.
The FNPF had earlier this year advised its members that it is important that they cut down on withdrawals as money in the Fund should be for their retirement only.
