NFP wants caretaker government
Concerns have been raised by the National Federation Party on the independence of the Supervisor of Elections and Electoral Commissioners that will be appointed under the constitution.

Party President Raman Pratap Singh said they are concerned about the make up and appointment of the commission by the government which was one of the issues discussed in their meeting in Nadi yesterday.

However, Attorney General and Minister for Elections Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said the commission has been appointed by the government in previous years.

Sayed Khaiyum said they hope to announce the names of the electoral commissioners that will be appointed under the 2013 constitution in the next few weeks.
