National Federation Party candidate Parmod Chand was sworn in as a new member of parliament this morning.
Chand took up the seat after former NFP President Tupou Draunidalo resigned from the party and as a member of NFP in Parliament earlier this year.
In his maiden speech Chand says that it is a good opportunity for him to serve and make a difference in the lives of Fijians.
He says he wants to help the most disadvantaged people of the country.
He says he is concerned about that people of North are still migrating to Suva.
