National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad has today claimed in parliament that some Advisory Councillors are working for the FijiFirst.
He asked Minister for Rural and Maritime Development Inia Seruiratu to assure them that the appointment of Advisory Councillors are not politically motivated.
Prasad says that they have a case from the Northern Division.
Chair, Dr. Jiko Luveni then said that the objective of the parliament committee session is to discuss the budget.
Prasad said that this is about the budget as money is allocated for Advisory Councillors.
Seruiratu had earlier said that the appointment of Advisory Councillors has been a sensitive issue as most Advisory Councillors have political affiliation as well.
He says some Advisory Councillors think they are Advisory Councillors for life adding that it wrong as it not about entitlement but service.
