NFA says at 3.30 pm yesterday the Suva Fire Station was alerted of the house fire and the fire crew responded immediately.

The National Fire Authority says an investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire that destroyed a timber-corrugated iron lean-to house in Lagilagi settlement at Gaji Road yesterday afternoon.

NFA says at 3.30 pm yesterday the Suva Fire Station was alerted of the house fire and the fire crew responded immediately.

Upon arrival at the scene, the crew found the house fully engulfed in flames. They quickly extinguished the fire and stopped it from spreading to other homes.

The home was occupied by three people at the time of the incident but no injuries were reported.

NFA Chief Executive Officer Puamau Sowane says they sympathize with the family for losing their property.

The NFA toll-free fire emergency number is 910.
