Mulevoro named in playmakers position

Emosi Mulevoro has been named in the playmakers position for the Fiji 7s team ahead of their first pool match against South Africa tomorrow in the Japan 7s tournament.

Captain Nemani Nagusa will team up with Jasa Veremalua    and Ulaiasi Lawavou in the forwards while Sakiusa Gavidi will be at half back.

Hong Kong hero Osea Kolinisau will be at rover with Samisoni Viriviri at wing.

Coach Alifereti Dere said that it will be hard to win back to back tournaments.

If Fiji can win a third Cup title this season in Tokyo, they will close the gap on Gordon Tietjens side.

New Zealand sit top of the series standings on 113 points 25 points ahead of Fiji who is on second place.

But winning back to back tournaments has become harder than ever before on the most competitive series to date.

Dere said it happened last year when they won in Hong Kong and then came to Japan and went into the Plate.

Fiji will play all its three pool matches of the Japan 7s tomorrow.

First up is South Africa at 1.44pm before meeting Spain at 5.51pm and Portugal at 9.19pm.

The Cup quarters start at 1.28pm Sunday, Cup semis at 5.08pm and the Cup final is at 7.33pm Sunday.
