Movements in Ba, Rakiraki and Tavua Towns have been restricted for tonight.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACPO) Livai Driu says flood waters have started to enter shops in towns, and it is not safe for people to be moving around the three towns.

Driu says this is to ensure the safety of the infrastructure of the three towns and protect the properties from opportunists.

He says the main highway from Ba to Rakiraki is closed to all traffic.

Meanwhile, ACP Driu confirms 160 police officers are on standby to assist.

Should anyone require assistance moving to higher ground, the Western Division Command and Coordination Centre can be contacted at 9905457.
