All Blacks first-five Richie Mo’unga says the only ones surprised by Fiji’s competitiveness last weekend are the New Zealand public who are unfamiliar with the rugby scene in the European competition.

Fiji dominated at the breakdown by the athletic, powerful frames of the hard-working Fijian forwards.

While speaking to allblacks.com, Mo’unga has labelled players like Levani Botia and Peceli Yato as rock stars of the European competition.

Halfback Brad Weber who was another player who witnessed the action not quite first-hand, having also had the week off adds he was also not surprised one bit by the Flying Fijians’ fierceness.

Weber says the Fijians were not afraid and were willing to throw everything at them.

Weber, who scored a hat-trick in the mauling of Tonga says the match against Fiji was a true test and that’s the sort of intensity and physicality that they expect, moving forward.

The Fiji Airways Flying Fijians will face the All Blacks at 7.05pm this Saturday in Hamilton.
