My energy going into this season is no different to any other, I’m here to give my everything and I still want to perform, to do the best for the Crusaders, our members and our fans.

Canterbury Crusaders first-five Richie Mo’unga says the 2023 Shop & Save Super Rugby Pacific season will be his last with the Crusaders as he heads to Japan to take up a position with Toshiba Brave Lupus Tokyo.

Mo’unga will finish up with the club after nine seasons and more than 1000 points.

He has taken the field in the Crusaders jersey 94 times, with his 100th appearance expected during his final season.

Mo’unga debuted for the Crusaders on 27 February 2016, facing the Chiefs at home and scoring 13 points and made the starting line-up for the rest of the season.

Crusaders Head Coach Scott Robertson says when Richie is on, the team is on as he brings out the best in all the players.

Richie Mo’unga and the Crusaders kick off their 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season against the Chiefs on 24 February at Orangetheory Stadium in Christchurch.
