Minister for Infrastructure, Jone Usamate says throwing $20 million into the operating grant for the Water Authority of Fiji does not necessarily make it more effective and efficient.
He highlighted this to SODELPA MP, Mosese Bulitavu who moved a motion for an increase by $20 million for the operating grant in the 2019/2020 National Budget.
Bulitavu says this increase is for the project workers who have to be reinstated.
Usamate says the funds are already allocated for the project workers.
The motion was defeated.
