A mother of five from Ba is thankful to the government for the lifting of the borders in Viti Levu as she can now reunite with her two sons aged 21 and 17 years who have been living in Suva on their own for the past 5 months.

Taina Uate says she left Suva to visit her husband who is working in Ba earlier this year, leaving her two sons at their Colo-I-Suva home.

She says leaving her sons at home and the thought of not knowing how they will survive through the pandemic was always on her mind.

She adds the past 5 months have been challenging for her and her husband because of the reduced hours her husband is working.

Uate says she keeps in touch with her two children through phone calls and it's always fulfilling to hear her sons’ voices.

Uate and her husband are both fully vaccinated and they are urging all Fijians to get vaccinated as this is the only way to bring normalcy to our country.
