Mother thankful that borders are open and she has returned to work

31-year-old Iliseva Cua is thankful that the borders are open and tourists are returning to Fiji since it has enabled her to earn a living to ease the hardships faced for the past few months.

Cua was laid-off from work due to the COVID-19 pandemic in April this year. She says the pandemic brought a lot of challenges because the money she earns from her work is being used to support the family or any other function in the village.

She further says starting her business was quite challenging but her belief in God ensured they continued to survive until she resumed work.

She adds losing her job after nine years with the resort is something she never thought would happen.

Cua says they have returned to work and she is thankful that borders are now open and tourists are returning.

She says even though they are working for four to five days, she is grateful she is earning a living to support her family again.
