Most of the houses in Wailea settlement in Vatuwaqa are now under water.
Speaking to Fijivillage, a resident Epeli Tui said the water level is rising rapidly and most of the residents have moved to evacuation centres.
Tui added most of the residents left for the evacuation centres with just the clothes they were wearing.
Tui is calling for assistance for the Wailea settlement residents who are still stuck in their houses.
We have informed DISMAC and they are now working on a rescue operation.
