The CEO of Fiji Crop and Livestock Council, Jiu Daunivalu says they are seeing an increasing number of women and youth farmers attending their workshops.

She says the women and youths saw the business and entrepreneurial opportunities that farming presents and are adopting tried and rested practices to improve their potential.

Daunivalu says they are committed to assisting farmer organisations in building linkages with other actors in the value chain.

The CEO adds farmers participated in various training sessions to develop their skills and build capacity in farm management, planning and implementation. She says they are now seeing a positive impact on their approach to farming.

She says they have declared their continued commitment to supporting the 16 farmer organisations.

She further says farmers are accessing services and markets to boost their income generation through increased productivity.
