More than 40 people were arrested for breaching curfew in the last 48 hours.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Abdul Khan says they have also arrested a number of drunk drivers including a police officer in Lautoka.

Khan says they have increased their presence in public places as they anticipated a lot of movement during the long weekend.

He adds the arrest of the police officer is a clear message that no one will be spared if they break the law.
