33,000 families have received the seed packages from the Agriculture Ministry’s Farming Response for Backyard Gardening Package.
Minister of Agriculture Doctor Mahendra Reddy says all these families have enough farming material to sustain their farms, and the Ministry will cease the seed distribution for the backyard gardening initiative from this Friday.
He says they now want to divert all the seed and planting material towards medium to large scale commercial agriculture.
The Ministry will restart the seed distribution initiative for backyard farming at the end of September this year.
