Ministry of iTaukei Affairs grants Immigration Ministry limited access to VKB database

The Department of Immigration now has limited access to the Vola Ni Kawabula database to allow them to verify and allow entry of those people listed on the VKB but not a Fijian citizen.

This after the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs and the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration signed a Memorandum of Understanding this afternoon.

Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs and Immigration, Mason Smith says under the terms and conditions, the two Ministries will collaborate in approving viewing access to the Department of Immigration into the VKB system.

Ministry of iTaukei Affairs Permanent Secretary, Pita Tagicakirewa says today marks a significant milestone in our nation's journey towards inclusivity, unity and shared sense of belonging.

Tagicakirewa says the amendment to the Immigration Act is not just a policy change, it is a reflection of our evolving understanding of what it means to be a Fijian.
