The Fiji Australia Business Council handed over a cheque of $20,000 to the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation today.

The Council says this support was initiated after their observation of difficult times many employees are facing.

They say this is their small token of appreciation to the Ministry for the work that they carry out in supporting those affected by COVID-19 and TC Yasa.

The Council adds this is to assist women and children who are the vulnerable groups in society.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, Mereseini Vuniwaqa says the Australian government’s generosity through the Vuvale partnership has enabled them to alleviate a lot of issues from the crisis Fiji has been facing.

Vuniwaqa says with this donation they are thinking of assisting children in their back to school preparations.
