Good news for people in Tavua and Rakiraki as they no longer have to travel to Lautoka to get their leases renewed or apply for a new lease as the Ministry of Lands has opened their new office in Rakiraki.

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Jone Usamate says the office in Rakiraki will be handling 3,240 lease files.

He adds they are planning to open an office in Nadi or Sigatoka to meet the growing demand.

Team Leader Rakiraki, Bulou Miriama Maka says they are providing service to 10 to 15 people per day.
