As part of strengthening and revitalization of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces this year, the Ministry of Home Affairs will be looking at military infrastructure and equipment to keep pace with the evolving nature of security threats, both regionally and globally.

In his new year address, Minister for Home Affairs, Pio Tikoduadua says they are looking at advancements in technology, weaponry, and communications systems to ensure that the military is equipped with the tools necessary for effective defense and disaster response.

He says training and professional development of military personnel are also central to their strategic thinking.

Tikoduadua says they are investing in programs that not only enhance tactical and operational skills but also focus on leadership, ethical conduct, and international peacekeeping standards.

He says it is essential that soldiers are not only physically and technically prepared but also mentally and ethically equipped to represent Fiji on the world stage.

The Minister says they will also assess the welfare and support systems for military personnel.
