Methamphetamine washed ashore in Yasawa

A bag containing a white substance confirmed as methamphetamine was washed ashore in Yasawa on Monday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime Mesake Waqa says they are in the initial stage of the investigation, and a presumptive test was conducted and confirmed it to be methamphetamine.

They are calling on villagers on the coastline of Yasawa, Malolo, and Mamanuca to be on the lookout and report any suspicious finds to police through the National Command Center on 9905 296 or the Western Division Command Center on 9905 457.
