Members of the public urged to contact FEA if they see any power-line posing any threats

The Fiji Electricity Authority is urging members of the public to contact their control center if they see any power-line that could pose any threat.

This is after a 16-year-old boy was electrocuted at Wainitarawau road in Cunningham yesterday.

FEA CEO, Hasmukh Patel says that the incident happened after an insulator which attaches the power-line to the power ball gave way to a low voltage causing the power line to drop low.

Patel says that the 16-year-old boy is believed to have touched the power line after which he got electrocuted and was rushed to the hospital and had later died.

Patel says that people can contact them on 913 if they come across a low power-line so that they could switch off the power for that line and rectify the situation.
