Members of the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces lined up to cast their votes at Reverend Tuvasu Hall at QEB today as pre-polling continues in the interior of Viti Levu, Vanua Levu and on the islands in Lomaiviti and Lau.

RFMF Chief Operations Officer Lieutenant Colonel Amani Suliano said they have pre-polling for the soldiers who are working on the day of the election.

He said they will stay away and only police officers will provide security on polling day which is set for next Wednesday.

35-year-old Mika Mataka said he wants to vote in this election as it was the government’s plan to return our country to democracy.

The Elections Office said pre-polling and postal voting was allocated for the disciplined forces, nurses and doctors.

Meanwhile, 65,875 voters are expected to cast their vote during the pre-polling period.

There are 591,095 registered voters in the 2014 general election.
