The Chiefs have shifted Damian McKenzie to start at first-five eighth when they host the Crusaders in Hamilton in Super Rugby Aotearoa tomorrow.

Co-captain Brad Weber will combine with All Blacks playmaker McKenzie in the halves while Alex Nankivell has been promoted to start at twelve after Quinn Tupaea was sidelined with a knee injury.

Chase Tiatia will start at fullback.

Loose forward Lachlan Boshier will make his long-awaited return at number 7 for his first match of the season after recovering from an injury.

Fiji-born Pita Gus Sowakula is on the bench.

The Chiefs will take on the Crusaders at 7.05pm tomorrow and the Blues will face the Highlanders at 7.05 tonight.
