Vodafone Flying Fijians coach Vern Cotter has outlined plans for the future and says Manasa Mataele at full-back will give him more options going forward.

He says the only specialized player for that position for now is Setareki Tuivucu.

Tuivucu, who started for Fiji against Tonga and scored a try has been rested for todayโ€™s match against Australia A in the Pacific Nations Cup.

Cotter says Mataele has a good understanding of the back-field game and it is an opportunity for him to step up.

Fiji will meet Australia A at 3.30pm today at Churchill Park.

Meanwhile, Samoa will play Tonga at 12pm, also at Churchill Park.
